velvet and was likely made for a bridal dowry. Inside, the chest is divided into several compartments, with recesses for cups and small cubes for plates. Judging by the exquisite decoration both inside and outside the chest, one cannot fail to appreciate the artisan\u2019s masterful skill and recognize the value of this ancestral heritage that has survived to the present day.<br \/>\nInformation about the commissioner: Bisenaliyeva B\u00e4ti \u2014 born in 1910. In 1924, when she was getting married, her father Bisen\u011fali commissioned a chest from a craftsman, paying the equivalent of one camel.
